Murphys Creek Escape is a camp grounds ideal for bringing the family on a budget getaway. You won't need to break the back pocket for a week to take the kids away and get them out of the house. There are plenty of activities your kids can do while you relax and unwind with a beverage in hand. You can have your own camp fire to roast some marshmellows and BBQs if you didn't bring your own to cook some snags for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Bush Camping with Fires at Murphys Creek Escape

Firepits: people can have fires on any site (provided no fire bans in place). The remote sites, army tents and the group sites have inbuilt fire pits. All other sites do not have a firepit – this is to allow people flexibility in set up. People are welcome to bring their own firepit camping – it must have legs to ensure it does not sit directly on the ground. People are welcome to use the communal firepit located next to the BBQ area – we do not provide free wood for this firepit. If these options don't work for people, we have firepits that we HIRE ($10 for first night, $5 per night after that to a max of $30/week).

Ground fires are banned on canyon top, powered and bushland sites.

You will be safe at night from all the wild animals but yet able to experience the best of Australia's wildlife during the day. You will be able to parkup your 4WD camper and spend a week hiking, bird watching and camping under the stars. Bring your cameras and pile in all your back packing friends. We are very welcoming to all international backpackers and can provide advice on the best local attractions to explore.

Only 90 minutes from Brisbane and 30 minutes from Toowoomba, based at the foot of the Toowoomba range, this camping oasis is the ideal spot to relax, unwind and escape the worries of the world.  Take your time to explore the area, take a dip in the seasonal creek, BBQ or picnic, relax under the trees with a book, cook a damper and spin a yarn around your own camp fire, or simply enjoy a beverage on the banks of Murphy's Creek.

SCHOOL CAMPS AND DISABLED CAMPS

YEARLY SCHOOL CAMP TRIPS

Murphys Creek Escape Camp Ground is ideal for disable camps and school camps. The camp grounds are only 90 minutes from Brisbane, 30 minutes from Toowoomba, 1 hour and 30 minutes from Gold Coast.

These traditional bush camp grounds are setup to cater to large school groups and disabled groups of all sizes. The grounds are extremely safe and all activities are safe for kids and adults to participate in. The river has water some months of the year but not all year round.

Get the BBQs going after a big day of activites with the kids. Let everyone unwind with the recreational gym with some climbing activites, picnics, relax under the trees with a book, cook a damper over small camp fires.

We offer: School camps for all ages and grades, a camping venue and activities for people with disabilities and we have plenty of adventure activities for school camps, disabled camps and campers. Camping doesn't get any better in South East Queensland!

There is a number of trails setup for kids to go orienteering. Great way for kids to learn navigation and basic survival skills.

Bird Watching

Kids will love all the birds with over 300 different types of birds have been recorded. Grab your cameras and binoculars and see how many you can spot.

Mountain Biking

Kids can go Mountain biking here at Murphys Creek Escape. There are trails to suits beginners and advanced skill levels.

There is a large undercover dinning area for large and small groups. Plenty of shared dinning space and BBQs for everyone.

Try out some outdoor archery with the kids. There is an instructor on hand to provide safe running of all archery activities.

The kids will have a ball playing on our giant swing through the camp grounds while you relax and unwind.

Bird Feeding

Try feeding the local lorikeets in the afternoon at feeding time. You won't be disapointed with hundreds of birds calling these camp.
