Butting in here because I am having a similar issue, Homegrown PC Intel i5-3470 CPU, 8 TB storage, 8 GB memory, tried running repair my PC, would not finish and rolled repair back, tried running Fresh Install of Windows, would not complete, had to roll back install and when trying to update to latest via Windows update have gotten "Windows 10 Insider Preview 17063.1000 (rs_prerelease) - Error 0x800705b4" from the Windows control panel update for days, I really want to either fix or update my PC and at this point it is looking like I will have to format and install fresh which I really don't want to go back to Windows 7 and update to Windows 10 again.

The problem may be 2GB of RAM.

Not sure that is enough.

Update for my problem, still getting the same issue with the last update, same error, I did run DISM repair and SFC which repaired some corrupt files but still get the update error. Have not tried resetting or installing fresh again yet. Hopefully the SFC and DISM fixed that issue at least will check tomorrow and update.

Hi Michael,

We would like to know if you're still experiencing the issue. If so, there may be a third party service running in the background that is causing the Windows Update error. If you're also using a third party antivirus program, it may also affecting the performance of Windows Update. We recommend that you perform a clean boot and to temporarily disable your antivirus software. This is for us to verify if you'll be able to update while your third party services and antivirus program are disabled.

Thank you for getting to me, I have followed your directions and performed a clean boot, however I still am getting:Windows 10 Insider Preview 17063.1000 (rs_prerelease) - Error 0x800705b4. I have not tried to refresh my PC or install a new copy of Windows since I used DISM and SFC. That will be my next attempt however today is my 37th wedding anniversary and I will not be trying anything for at least today. I will report back if I am still having issues in a few days.

Also please note that I do not run 3rd party anti-virus software, I use Windows Defender alone for my test PC, I want as little as possible running to insure I do not have issues with running the preview editions.
